Princess Diana's former lover James Hewitt was arrested near his London home after a midnight fracas with a photographer. Police confirmed they had arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of assaulting a photographer in the upmarket South Kensington neighborhood of London.
"He was taken to a central London police station and has been bailed to a date next month pending further inquiries," a police spokeswoman said. She said the 24-year-old photographer had been treated by a doctor for head injuries after the scuffle.
Hewitt's biography says he has "an aversion to paparazzi."
